Below is just a small selection of the reports, posters and application notes relating to SameSpots since it was first released in 2004. SameSpots has been proven to provide reproducible analysis of 2DE for differential protein expression analysis.

DIGE Example Analysis Report

SameSpots can analyse all common image file formats and all staining techniques. This report demonstrates the analysis of the DIGE tutorial images to identify the 10 spots with a statistically significant fold change greater than 2.

Single Stain Example Analysis Report

Single stained gels are easy to analyse in SameSpots, alignment allows spots on all images to be in the same coordinate space for analysis. This report demonstrates the analysis of the images and highlights the top 10 spots with the most statistically significant fold change greater than 2 between two conditions.

Healing the Achilles Heel of Proteomics – 2-DE Reproducibility Study

The SpotCheck feature of SameSpots was used in a multi-lab reproducibility study to measure gel running quality within labs and between labs. Poster was initially presented at HUPO conference 2010

Case Study: University of Texas Medical Branch, Biomolecular Resource Facility

The University of Texas Medical Branch, Biomolecular Resource Facility is one of only seven sites within the USA that receive multi-million dollar state funding by the US Department of Health & Human Services. “The fundamental concept (image alignment) of SameSpots permits us greatly increased confidence in quantification, and this is enhanced when performed on gels obtained by our saturation fluorescence strategy.”

Case Study: Istituto di Ricerche Farmacologiche “Mario Negri”

The Istituto di Ricerche Farmacologiche “Mario Negri” is a non-profit independent scientific organisation for biomedical research and education. The Environmental Health Sciences Department investigate the effect of environmental factors on human health. “We have been using SameSpots in our research since January 2007. The software has drastically simplified our proteomics workflow and opens up new avenues for the exploration of the data obtained”
