  1. Image QC

    Images are checked as they are added: bit depth (16-bit is recommended), saturation, resolution and orientation. Problems are flagged before analysis starts, so a saturated or misoriented gel never makes it into your results. Crop, rotate, flip, scale and invert without leaving the software. 2D-PAGE, 2D-DIGE, 2D western blots and 2D-DIBE are all covered by one license.

  2. Automatic alignment

    Every 2D gel image is aligned automatically. Pixel-level alignment warps each image so its spots superimpose on the reference gel, with manual vectors for difficult regions. Alignment can be reviewed and adjusted at any time.

  3. Automatic spot detection

    SameSpots detects spots automatically and applies a single spot pattern to every image. Every spot has a measurement on every gel, so there are no missing values, and an edit to a spot on one gel applies to every gel.

  4. Normalization

    Each spot is expressed as a ratio to the same spot on the reference, or to the Cy2 internal standard in DIGE, and each gel is scaled by the robust mean of its log ratios, with a graph for every gel.

  5. Statistics

    ANOVA, PCA, expression profiles, interaction plots and hierarchical clustering are built in, with p-values, q-values and power for every spot.

  6. Pick and identify

    Generate pick lists for spot-picking robots or manual excision, then import identifications from MASCOT or custom databases so each spot links to its identity and its statistics.
