Based on customer feedback, we have enhanced our 1D gel electrophoresis and blot image analysis software and are delighted to launch the Phoretix 1D to our product range.
Building on decades of experience in developing software to drive efficiencies in the lab, the Phoretix 1D features an intuitive easy-to-use interface and navigation which can minimise the time to train new operators as well as reduce inter-operator variation. The software also has a user-friendly, easy-to-navigate workflow and benefits from automated detection of bands and lanes, which enables fast, accurate and reliable results when analysing 1D gels and blots.
Built using completely redesigned code, the software’s advanced automation and intuitive algorithms enable a greater level of standardisation in workflows. Phoretix 1D also features industry-leading algorithms to automatically remove background ‘noise’ to ensure sharp images for analysis. These specifically developed algorithms also enable greater accuracy of molecular weight calculation, quantity calibration and normalisation.

Alongside these algorithms, its user-defined protocols enable complete one-click analysis of your images. This feature alone completely removes the potential of operator error increasing time savings, as well as confidence in your analysis.
By using our device-agnostic software, laboratories can save time, cost and reduce the environmental impact of sourcing new equipment, as it is compatible with all current image documentation devices, as well as all industry-standard image formats and the latest versions of both Windows and macOS operating systems (including M1 chip Macs).
For regulated environments, Phoretix 1D can be integrated into TotalLab’s 21 CFR Part 11 compliant GxP Module to provide data traceability, secure sign-ins and reporting for audit purposes.
