Custom scientific software, built by the team behind the tools your labs already trust

For over 20 years TotalLab has built, shipped and supported analytical software used in the world’s most demanding life-science labs. We bring that same team to build custom and white-label software for your equipment, your workflow, or your next product, validated to 21 CFR Part 11/GMP/Annex 11 from day one. That software ships inside commercial instruments, runs in GMP-regulated QC labs, and sits behind confidential programs at some of the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies.

You’re in the right place if…

Three kinds of teams come to us when off-the-shelf software won’t do the job. You’ll likely recognize yourself in one of them:

Ship better software with your instrument.

Add branded, integrated, compliant analysis and control software to your hardware without standing up a software team. We deliver white-label or co-branded software end to end, so your device does more and sells better.

Go from prototype to a validated, investor-ready product with a team that has done exactly this for the biggest names in the field. Move fast without hiring, and without cutting corners on compliance.

When your R&D or QC team needs a bespoke analysis, a validated data workflow, or automation that no vendor sells, we build it, documented and audit-ready for regulated environments.

Plenty of agencies say they “understand the science.” We already ship it

Choosing a development partner in life science is a bet on whether they’ll get the science, the compliance and the delivery right. Here’s why that bet is safe with us.

We don’t just write code, we build science software. For two decades we’ve developed and sold our own analytical products, automated gel and image analysis, LC-MS proteomics, colony counting, ELISA, kinetics, microarray etc. used in labs worldwide. Your project is built by a team that lives with the consequences of getting the science right in global pharmaceutical companies.

Trusted where trust is hardest to earn. Our software runs in the world’s most regulated pharma environments and has passed the audits that come with them.

21 CFR Part 11, Annex 11 and GMP, built in from day one. Over a decade of compliant development means validation, audit trails and documentation aren’t an afterthought we bolt on later, they’re how we build. Many generalist developers simply can’t say that.

What “GMP compliant” should mean for software, and how to check any vendor’s claim →

Scientists and mathematicians, not just developers. We ask the right questions on day one because we’ve done the science ourselves. That means fewer wrong turns, faster delivery, and software your end users actually trust.

Our case studies show what that looks like across five sectors →

Built to pass the audits your customers and regulators demand

If your software touches a regulated workflow, “compliant-ready” isn’t good enough. We build to the standards that matter, and document it so it holds up.

What that looks like in practice

OEM · Instrument software. We built AzureSpot Pro, an OEM image analysis platform for Azure Biosystems, then a 21 CFR Part 11 and GMP-compliant edition that opened the regulated pharmaceutical market to them.

Biotech · Automated Analysis. We turned a slow, manual 1D SDS-PAGE gel analysis and annotation and reporting process into automated software that delivers results in seconds, helping a biotech team scale their work without scaling their headcount. This team was able to rapidly increase the throughput of their lab work and significantly reduce time taken to deliver projects.

Pharma · Regulated data. We built a 21 CFR Part 11-compliant database for an immunotherapy developer, giving them an audit-ready system that stands up to the scrutiny of their regulated environment.

Answers before you ask

Do you build white-label software for equipment manufacturers? Yes. Delivering branded, integrated software alongside life-science instruments is one of our core services. We handle development end to end so your team can stay focused on the hardware, and your device ships with software that adds real value.

Can you build 21 CFR Part 11 and GMP-compliant software? Yes. We have over a decade of experience building software validated to 21 CFR Part 11, EU Annex 11 and GMP, with the audit trails and documentation regulated environments require. Compliance is built in from the start, not added on afterwards. Read how GMP applies to a custom build.

We’re an early-stage startup. Are we too small to work with you? Not at all. We regularly take startups from prototype to a validated, investor-ready product. You get a specialist team without the cost and delay of hiring one, and software that stands up to due diligence. What a custom build costs.

Will your software work with our existing instruments and systems? Yes. We build to integrate with your existing hardware, data and infrastructure, whether that’s controlling an instrument, ingesting its data, or connecting several tools into one workflow.

Who owns the software you build? You do. Our work is covered by an NDA and the intellectual property is yours. We build it, document it, and support it, but it belongs to you.

How do we get started? Book a free 30-minute discovery call. We’ll discuss your equipment, workflow or idea, and give you an honest view of how we’d approach it and what it would take.
