A free two-minute self-check for life science instrument makers. Nine questions, an instant answer, no call and no sign-up.
The EU Cyber Resilience Act's reporting obligations have applied since 11 September 2026, and from 11 December 2027 every unit you place on the EU market must meet its essential requirements. Answer nine questions about one product and you will see whether it is in scope, how ready it is, and what to do first.
CRA self-check
What the self-check looks at
The first five questions decide whether the CRA covers your product: where you sell it, whether it has software, firmware or a data connection, whether the medical device rules cover it instead, and whether you will still ship new units after 11 December 2027.
The last four score how ready it is, against the obligations that cause instrument makers the most trouble:
- A software bill of materials (SBOM) for every product
- A process to report actively exploited vulnerabilities within 24 hours
- A secure way to deliver security updates to installed units
- Software built on platforms that still receive security patches
Have a portfolio? Run it once per product. Results for your oldest software are usually the ones that decide your plan.
What happens with your answers
Nothing, unless you ask for a review. Your result appears on the page straight away, and you can print it or save it as a PDF. If you request the free expert review, your answers come to our CRA team and an engineer replies within one working day with what we would tackle first.
Want the full picture across your portfolio?
The free CRA readiness audit is one structured call. You leave with a classification for each product, a remediate, redevelop or retire recommendation, and a dated roadmap to December 2027.
